“What's one small habit that gave you way more energy than any supplement ever did? 🧪 Protocols & Self-Experiments I've spent way too much time looking into supplements over the last year because I always felt tired by the afternoon I kept thinking there had to be one thing I was missing. Last weekend I was on my laptop playing myprize also reading through old posts here while drinking coffee and it made me realize that a lot of people ended up getting the biggest improvements from simple habits instead of buying another bottle of something. I'm curious what that habit was for you. Not a huge lifestyle overhaul just one thing where you noticed a real difference after sticking with it for a few weeks sleep schedule, walking after meals, light exposure, meal timing. What surprised you the most?”
“I think I fixed my post-breakfast exhaustion ! General Advice Hey everyone, I'm 24F and for over two years I noticed always getting tired after breakfast, no matter what I eat or how healthy I try to make my breakfast. Oats, eggs, healthy pancakes, greek yogurt, latte. Tired. I come from a country where typically we have latte with bread and some butter with jam on top (remnants of french breakfast) and the past days I decided to try my father's coffee machine with freshly ground coffee beans, while usually I put store-bought instant coffee (Nescafe, Maxwell house, etc) with my milk. Now I still mix it with milk and with that I have a little bit of bread with some butter and honey/jam and I noticed that my morning slumber is gone. For anyone in the same situation, this might help ! I don't know what could explain it, honestly. Maybe my stomach needs something very lightweight in the morning, maybe the milk is watered down from the water in the coffee which makes it lighter and easier on my stomach to digest.”48 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“Proven ways to avoid feeling sleepy post lunch Hello, I am 34 years old and all my health markers are normal. I take supplements only if there is a deficiency. “How and what should I eat to keep my energy up? I barely have any as it is, but I’ve always lived a sedentary lifestyle I’m taking on my second job... I work at Jimmy Johns part time, and I’ll be working at Chipotle soon part time. I have no idea how in the world I’m gonna keep my energy up to do chipotle. I work in the mornings at Jimmy Johns, and I’m thinking of working eve shift at chipotle. I get soooo sleepy and tired after Jimmy Johns, and it’s just 3-4 hours!! I’ve had my blood checked and everything, all good. Idk why I stay so drained all the time. I have also been forgetful lately, to the point where I can’t even remember what I was just thinking about doing ... any advice would be appreciated on what I should eat before going into jimmy Johns, so that I can have lasting energy for the day. Thanks!!!!”43 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“How do you manage to maintain a good high energy level throughout the day to be productive? 😴 Sleep & Recovery Hi everyone, I would like to increase my energy level, I feel like I could perform more than what I currently do and it's because I feel a little tired after work... To clarify the "tired" thing, it's not that I'm sleepwalking, but that I feel like I could have more energy to study, train, and do something else during the day. Of course sometimes it's hard for me because I don't sleep as well as possible, now Summer has started and I get up in the middle of the night because of the heat, so I sleep a little worse than before. I am 27 years old, I train 2-3 times a week (i do crossfit an gym, I would like to train more but sometimes I can't because I have to study or it is difficult for me to recover from the previous day), I eat healthy (I don't eat products with milk, I avoid sugar, ultra-processed things ..., I try to eat enough protein). Supplements: Magnesium citrate for better sleep and creatine. The last blood test I had gave me normal levels of iron and b12. Maybe what I need is to expose myself to the sun more often, but I always try to study with the window open so that the sun can come in and walk down the street where the sun shines on me. What would you see first as to incorporate some tips little by little and see what works for me?”27 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법

“How Do People Still Have Energy After Work? 🧐 General Advice Hey peeps! For people who are working long hours or have exhausting schedules — how do you manage time and energy for things like gym, sports, hobbies, or studies after work? Sometimes after reaching home, my body just gives up and it becomes really difficult to focus on anything else, even if it’s important at that point in life. Do you manage these things daily or keep them only for weekends? How you restore energy for all these things?”26 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“Something to give me energy in the afternoon? As title says. I have a major case of an afternoon slump. I also can barely wait for 9:30 pm to go to bed. I am 25 and have been this way for about a year. Coffee doesn't help. I have an espresso in the morning. I also have a shot or two (of espresso) after lunch. I've tried switching my espresso for green tea or matcha, neither helped, so I switched back to my beloved espresso. Post lunch green tea made me super jittery to the point where I couldn't sit still or concentrate. I take b12 supplement in the morning, as well as D3 + K2. I tried taking a CoQ10 supplement with my lunch, which made my blood sugar and blood pressure drop. However, it did made me stay awake until 11 pm, so a win I guess. You migth be thinking it migth have something to do with my food choice, but I eat mostly whole foods. For lunch I have a green salad with chicken breast or chicken breast with broccoli and sweet potatoe. For breakfast I have yogurt with oats, fruit and protein powder. I track my calories and I am definitely getting enough calories and enough protein, fiber and fats. I just don't understand where this problem is and finally decided to look into a supplement to take with my lunch.”19 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법

“I'm working my first job in tech which I started working at in the last few months and I feel like whenever I get home I'm completely drained. My schedule is more or less wake up at 5-5:30 hit the gym at 6-7:30 and be at work at 8, and I end my days anywhere from 2-4 depending on how much my team has going on and sleep around 10. I meal prep so I avoid having to really cook dinner and don't usually have many dishes to clean and don't really have issues doing manual chores. But when it comes to studying up on a certification, working on a side project or even something fun and low effort like gaming I feel more and more drained as time passes. I've tried taking a 30ish minute nap right after I get home and I only get a small boost in energy until I eat dinner and then just want to rot in-front of a tv and not do anything. I feel like I'm not able to make any advancements towards any longer term goals, like I understand that most of my goals should be directed towards my job but I do want to progress and adapt quickly especially in the current tech market you never know what might happen. Any advice? Early 20s if its relevant.”14 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법

“How to still have energy after eating? Hi everyone, I received some very helpful and informative tips here and was wondering if anyone could provide me some insight. I feel like I am always always always tired after eating. The first thing I want to do after eating is lay in bed. Does anyone have any suggestions? Yes, sometimes I actually do lay in bed and I know this is terrible for my digestion but when it happens… it happens. An example would be today (my off day): i got 8 hours of sleep, I worked out in the morning, and I grabbed a yogurt parfait and an iced coffee with oat milk. I ate the entire parfait (yogurt, granola, blueberry, strawberry) and drank half the coffee… instantly fell asleep on the couch. I know yogurt contains a lot of carbs, but this happens with almost every meal for lunch. I also want to emphasize that the only other carb I am eating when I eat lunch is a piece of toast or 2. Another example would be last week where I ate scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. I feel very unproductive and sluggish. I also feel like i’ve wasted my 1 off day per week from a 5 day work week! This feeling happens at work too, but since I’m physically at work as a nurse and on my feet, i’m obviously not napping. Please help me! Is it burn out? Is it what I eat? Is it because i’m relaxing on my day off? Is it stress? What do yall eat to prevent this? How can I be more consistent? How can I help my digestion so this doesn’t happen? Thank you kindly!!”12 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“How to stay energized throughout the day and AFTER working 8-9 hours 10-20k steps a shift? General Advice Any diet or lifestyle advice? Im struggling. Have a small breakfast and Pack lunch for work. Dinner is where I have most of my cheat and junk foods. I thought maybe I should try working out in the mornings But im scared ill be tired after and it would make working harder. I get 7-9 hours of sleep it depends on the day. “What to take for tiredness after eating? After eating dinner, (high protein, moderate fat, some carbs but not too low) usually a small amount of rice with chicken, veggies and soy sauce, I feel extremely tired 1-2 hours afterwards. Sometimes I end up taking a nap and waking up quite thirsty as well. My blood tests are within normal range, HbA1C is fine at 5.6. Is there anything I can take to counteract this?”10 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법

“What thing, food, supplement, exercise or anything else increased your energy levels ? Question I am sleepy all the day. I can drink a cup of strong coffee and go back to sleep. When I am up, I feel frustrated or tired. What helped you to gain your energy back ?”4 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“I tracked my afternoon energy crashes for a week and changed one thing about how I eat. Here’s the data. 🥗 Nutrition & Metabolism I kept getting hit by the classic 3-4pm energy crash, the one where you’d kill for coffee or something sweet just to function. I wanted to see if I could fix it without changing what I eat, only how. The one change: eating my food in a specific order. Fiber/veggies first, protein and fat second, carbs and anything sweet last. Same meals, same calories, just reordered. I tracked two things 2-3 hours after lunch on a 1-10 scale: Sugar craving (1 = none, 10 = can’t think about anything else) Energy (1 = want to nap at my desk, 10 = alert) 3 days baseline (eating normally): •Avg craving: ~7 •Avg energy: ~4 3 days eating carbs-last: •Avg craving: ~4 •Avg energy: ~6 The craving drop was the most noticeable part. The 4pm “I need a cookie” urge just didn’t hit as hard. Energy was steadier too, though that’s more subjective. The mechanism (from what I’ve read): eating fiber and protein before carbs blunts the post-meal blood sugar spike, and a smaller spike means a smaller crash later. Jessie Inchauspé’s work covers this, and there are clinical studies showing meal-sequence effects on glucose response. It’s n=1 and obviously not a controlled study, placebo could be doing some of the work. But it costs nothing and changes nothing about what you eat, so the downside is basically zero. Curious if anyone else has tested this, especially anyone with a CGM who can show actual glucose curves. Did you see a real effect or was it noise?”2 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“Daily energy crash around 4pm — not tiredness, actual energy drain. Supplement advice? Bloodwork all good, only thing slightly low (but still in range) was salt. Currently taking omega-3, zinc, creatine, D3+K2, magnesium glycinate. Every day around 4pm I just run out of energy — it's not sleepiness, it genuinely feels like my body runs out of fuel. Thinking of adding L-Tyrosine ~500mg around 2pm, or L-Theanine with coffee. Anyone tried either for this? What actually worked for you or any other advice?”2 UPVOTES · 주제: 에너지 해법
“How to quickly optimise your body to continue working after your first meal drink mint green tea known to increase and stimulate digestive enzymes and also gives you the afternoon caffeine boost (Make sure to not use plastic bags as the hot water will cause micro plastic waste in your tea. Loose leaf and metal strainer are the way) 15min walk and stretch. Blood circulation is key to make sure you’re not stagnant and slow avoid sweets, heavy carbs or desserts. Lunch time is not the time to focus on digesting heavy foods Reassert your dominance on the second part of the day. Be intentional Optimise for speed. Optimise for an emotionless relationship with food.”1 UPVOTE · 주제: 에너지 해법
